As with other Lonely Planet publications, this guide book emphasizes the rugged and the remote (for example, the volcano walks and the Grande Escursione Appenninica - walk the length of Italy!) There are two three-day Tuscan walks that can be broken into stages. For the serious hiker in Italy, this book is invaluable.
